I'm running plain ol Windows98. After my Windows Explorer is running for 10-15 minutes, and idle, I will get "Iexplorer caused a general protection fault in module USER.EXE at 0003:00006c50. Somtimes the number changes. I regulary clean up ActiveX issues with Norton Utilities.
any ideas.

A general protection fault may indicate that software or driver problem. A memory problem can also cause it. I would first go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and update software. An IE(?) upgrade (http://microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp) may fix it. If the problem is still there Click Start, Run, enter drwatson, OK. When a program fault occurs, Dr. Watson generates a snapshot of the software environment. Click the Details button in the error message to view the information that is gathered. Larry
