Auto Insert Notification

OS-Win98se
In the past I was able to insert a cd in either the cd rom or cd/rw drive and it would auto launch. Now niether drive will auto launch. I have checked to make sure Auto Insert Notification was enabled, but still no luck. Could I have possibly deleted a file needed for AIN? If so,any ideas?
