Any know a lot about digital camera's?

Hello,
My folks are going on a cruise for a few weeks, and Dad wants to take along a digital camera. His current one is decent, but very low end. He is looking for one with removable storage, and high mega pixels. The one he has his eye on right now is a Kodak 3800. Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about this camera? If bad, can you make any suggestions?

I looked at Kodaks when I bought my camera sometime ago, but not that model. I bought an Olympus C-3000 Zoom. It is very good camera and you can get them for much less than I paid for it. When I researched cameras I read reviews at the following sites:

You will probably end-up spending another $100 on accessories, such as extra memory and batteries, and a battery charger. I also bought a tripod for product and how to article shots for this web site.
One thing you most certainly do not want to do is buy a camera on the Internet before going to show room somewhere and putting your pea pick'n hands on it. Larry

Also, before buying one on the Internet search http://google.com with the vendor's name. Some of the cheap ones have lousy reputations. Furthermore, add the shipping handling charges to your comparison shopping before closing-out your cart. Some “scoundrels” make-up for price undercutting with high shipping and handling charges. The old adage, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is," certainly applies when buying cameras and consumer electronics. Larry
