Never mind, I have figured it out. Anyway, how can I get rid of the detecting proxy setting stuff, because when I open ie5, it had to detect the proxy setting only after connecting DSL.

This is a known problem in IE 5 and is described in Microsoft's Knowledge Base Article Q234012 at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q234/0/12.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0. The article points to a fix. I would upgrade to 5.01. The download is at http://microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm. Larry
