56Kbps modem disconnected problem

My dial-up connection will always be disconnected from my local ISP, the time period that I managed to stay online is about 30 minutes and no further.
What could be the problem here?
This only happen recently as I have been using the modem or about a year.
Anyone that have similar experience please share.

The ISP might be disconnecting you if there has been no Internet activity for a given period of time. Your ISP may have changed-out MODEMs and they made need some tweaking? If the disconnects are random, you or the ISP could have faulty MODEMs or you could have a noisy phone line (or someone is trying to dial-out on the same line). Listen to the line with a telephone. If you are using Sygate for internet connection sharing, your setup could be causing your connection to drop.
