Firewall and TCP/IP Port Help

This is more of a request to you. Can you give me a link or write an article yourself to give us some help on firewalls and tcp ports? Your web site is one of the best on the net for pc support and with the boom in broadband and "always on" connections the need for knowledge on these topics are becoming more and more important.

Thanks
Brian

Sorry, Brian, I have no plans for such an article and I am very much backlogged with work, some of which has been on my to do list for over a year. It would probably be a substantial undertaking, would probably require frequent updating, and, frankly, I think it would be rather boring work. Also, most of the info would probably be specific to particular firewall products and should be available at the various manufacturer sites. I do not use a software firewall and find a hardware/firmware solution, such as the SMC Barricade router, is probably better. TCP Port info is available at http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers. Larry
