I have a network of win2k computers and a few win Me/98 boxes. The 2000 boxes give me a prompt to enter a username and password to connect via the network to another computer. If I try to connect to another computer with the winME/98 boxes I do not get to enter a username, it is path://computername/IPC$ and only a password box is enabled. I don't know/have a password for this directory, nor does it exist. ?? How do I enter a username??
Thank You, John

There are several discussions in this forum on the problem. Search with the Site Search in the menu to the left with IPC$. Larry

just make an account on the win2K box ..
yourname + password ....
Share whatever folder you need access to on win2K and give your name etc permisssion to access it.... by right clicking on it
