Firewall and ICS

Hello all,
I need to know if it could be a problem >> installing a firewall software on a small home network and sharing Internet with ICS -
setup: 2 PCs - 2 NICs (10/100)- 1 Internet adapter on a cable modem - sharing files and printer at the moment.
Do you believe that everything will work OK after installing the software ( Norton or Zone Alarm) I have the choice, or it will be a problem to have my network running as before ?

If you are going to have a network connected to the internet with Shared Drives .. I would most defiantley USE a Firewall... crazy not too.. your shares show up to certain people like a torch in the night.............
Zonealarm is my personl favourite, and yes everything will work fine , zonealarm basically finds your internal Machines and gives them access to the internet... also very easy to manually configure too...

I've been searching for a place to ask this...maybe this is it.
I just bought McAfee Virus Protection and it came with McAfee Firewall. I got to using it for the first time tonight and what looked like a surge of activity having left the comptuer on reading up on something...noticing this I started the firewall program and almost 10 minutes after going into filter mode, I was alerted to a port wall attack. I have the DNS too.
But my question is...How do I find a DNS number for a web page that I am currently on? Is it possible.
The DNS I've found was from a server that hosts a forum I normally chat on, I can only think they saw me logged in on that server at that time. I have a cable modem and it's fast, I think it's gonna make me a preferred target.
But is there anything I can do to find out who/why. Run a trace??
