How to make a LAN from 2 computers a hub?

Hi, i have 2 computers side by side with a patch cable connect to the hub (i have my cable modem hooked to the hub uplink) and another patch cable from the hub to the other computer.
Can anyone please tell me how can i set up the LAN in network setting? I have tried NetBEUI but it doesnt seem to work (or i have no idea if there is other settings i need to do).

If you are using a router or a hub which connects directly to the internet, it is normally necessary to use TCP/IP as the main protocol, because it is the protocol used by the Internet and most routers only support it. Especially if it is a Linksys router.

Umm sorry.. I know what TCP/IP and all other things are.. but I am not into the networking and never learn or temper with it... Can you please show me how to do this :p
My hub is the AOpen 5-ports hub.
The internet cable is directly hooked up to the hub's uplink port, and with 2 patch cables link to the computers on port #2 and 3.
One of my computer is running on WinME and the other is 98se.
