WinME and Linksys router

I am currently using Win98 SE on both my networked PC sharing DSL through the Linksys 4 port router.
I tried upgrading the two PC to WinMe but then I couldn't connect with the router like I used to when I was running Win98 SE. What gives?
I have since uninstalled WinMe from both PC but my WinMe CD is just gathering dust.
I've read on Linksys's website that their routers are compatiable with WinME (I am prarphrasing - as long as the OS is compatiable with TCP/IP). Are there any settings that I have to look out for after upgrading to WinME?
Another thing that I wanted to do is to share resources between the two PC - ie. printing, other harddisk resources, gaming between the two PC etc. How do I do that? I've turned on File and printer sharing but I still do not see the other PC. I need some serious help. Thanks!

Two of our computers are running Me and using a SMC Barricade router. I have done it with Me and the Linksys router. Try doing upgrade one computer at a time. Make sure the network adapter is installed after doing the upgrade. Start, Run, enter winipcfg, select the adapter, and release and renew the IP lease. Try uninstalling and reinstalling everything network after the upgrade. For file sharing, etc. you may have install the NetBEUI protocol in addition to TCP/IP. Larry

I've upgraded both my PC to Win ME now and they are both working fine. Internet came on right away without any input from me and all the peripheral are identified by the OS.
I don't know what I did wrong the first time but I am glad that the second time is a charm.
I just wanted to say thank you for your tips!
