XP home network dosen't work

I have one machine with Win2K and XP operating systems and the other machine has ME.
The network works perfectly between Win2K and ME but will not work between XP and ME even though everything is the same.
By not working I mean you can not see one machine from the other.
Suggestions please.

Are the Link LEDs on solid? Share something. Wait until the computers sort who is the Browse Master. May take 15 or 20 minutes! Search for the computer. Install NetBEUI (http://duxcw.com/faq/network/xpnetbeui.htm). Wait a little for me to build some new machines and network XP. I’ll do it as soon as I finish some repairs and can get away from this web site long enough. I have all of the parts for three of them setting by my desk. I build them pretty fast. Larry

I would like to install NetBEUI on my new XP machine to add to my existing home NetBEUI-based network. But the new PC has XP preloaded, with only a recovery/restore CD, no original XP CD. So I cannot find the necessary files in a "VALUEADD" directory anywhere. Are these files available for download anywhere?

Problem solved. Zonealarm was blocking the PCs from seeing each other.
Click on advanced and check your eathernet card.

Are you talking about XP's firewall or Zone Alarm that you installed? It wasn't blocked on the computer I'm working on and the network stuff was left default except for NetBEUI. Larry
