I'm trying to get Internet Connection Sharing working with an AT&T cable modem and Windows 2000 Pro. AT&T assigns a static IP to my cable modem NIC. When I install ICS, ICS changes that static IP to 192.168.0.1. Afterwards, I can't connect to the Internet unless I change the IP for my cable modem NIC back to its original static IP. Then ICS does not work. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

You need two network adapters in the ICS host, one for the MODEM and the other for clients? Or, ICS should assign that IP to the adapter connected to the client(s), which means the adapters are probably backwards. This can be corrected with steps in http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q238/1/35.ASP. I would purchase a router (http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/waysshare.htm). Larry
