ONLINE GAMING PROBLEM

O.K. I HAVE 2 COMPUTER'S BOTH RUNNING WINDOWS ME
I HAVE SYGATE HOME NETWORK INSTALLED TO SHARE MY CABLE INTERNET CONNECTION,AND I HAVE BOUGHT A
LINKSYS 5 PORT STARTER KIT WITH 2 FAST ETHERNET
10/100 CARDS AND WIRING AND A HUB ,
I HAVE MY SETUP AS FOLLOWS, ON MY HOST COMPUTER IT HAS THE NETWORK CARD ALREADY BUILT IN TWO IT,AND A FAST ETHERNET CARD I INSTALLED,THE CABLE MODEM IS CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK CARD ALRADY BUILT IN TO THE HOST PC AND THE CARD I INSTALLED IS CONNECTED TO THE HUB THAT CAME WITH THE LINKSYS
KIT ,THEN I CONNECTED MY CLIENT TO THE LINKSYS HUB
I CAN SEE BOTH PC'S ON THE NETWORK,I CAN SHARE FILES,MY HOST COMPUTER HAS NO PROBLEMS ONLY THE CLIENT, I CAN SURF THE WEB ,DOWNLOAD ,AND EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE CLIEN PC EXCEPT
HOST A GOOD OLD FASION GAME OF POPULOUS,I CAN PLAY
ALL I WANT, IT JUST WONT LET ME HOST,I HAVENT TRIED ANY OTHER GAMES YET,CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME ANY ADVICE? I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HOME NETWORKING,AS IT TOOK ME A WEEK TO SET UP WHAT I HAVE ALREADY:(,,SOME HELP WOULD BE GREAT! I CHOSE TO USE SYGATE CAUSE IT SET UP EVERYTHING AUTOMATIC

A router would be a much better solution (http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/waysshare.htm)… With a router of SyGAte you have to setup ports that go through the NAT/firewall for games. I have repeatedly had to look-up these links and they are not easy to find, so I made an FAQ out of your question. Larry

I found them difficult also... Try the second reference if it has an entry for your game. I believe those downloads automate the process. Also, I have not used SyGate in a long time (since I got my router), but I think I recall seeing stuff in the menus to setup commonly used games, etc. Larry
