Windows takes for ever to start up

I intalled a 3com Eatherlink 10 PCI TPO NIC (3C900B-TPO) ON A ASUS CUV4X and now every time I load up windows it just sits at the windows 98 logo for like about 2 minutes then loads up the desktop. Can someone help me with that please. thanks

It's probably looking for something network-related, not finding it, and the routine that is doing the looking is timing-out. Push the Esc key after the logo has been displayed for a while to see what is happening at the DOS level. Larry
