Set up an Internet Server with MSN DSL
chickenpig Jan-23-02 00:14 AM
IS IT POSSIBLE? I have spoken with several MSN troubleshooters, and they are pointless. I can easily connect my several computers to the internet, but I want to set up a web server. I can obtain my IP address, but I am not able to ever access it through the internet. DO I NEED A ROUTER? Any help appreciated. BTW, I share internet by connecting the ARESCRAP 800 modem into my USB, and then connecting my NIC into the Uplink of my hub, and the rest is internet connection sharing.

You have to open port (http://duxcw.com/faq/network/tcpport.htm) 80 through the ICS NAT. A router is better. http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/icsconfig.htm Many service providers will cutoff your service if you run a web server accessible from the Internet. . Larry
