Hi Guys.I have searched the archives for help but didn't find the answer so apologies for asking again.
I have a Win98 SE machine and A Win2k machine which I am trying to network peer to peer. The Win2k machine can SEE and use the Win98 SE machine and all is OK. However, the Win 98 machine just cannot access the Win2K machine. It can SEE the Workgroup name in Network Neighborhood etc., but trying to access the Win2K machine I get a password message:
Enter Network Password
\\Win2kMachineName\IPC$
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
Also I have assigned IP Addresses 192.168.10.1 & 2 to each machine and when booted up I get a warning that the other is in use, so I figure they can see each other OK. The Win2K machine will just not allow itself to share.
I have clicked on individual folders and check SHARING but still nothing. Also I have right clicked C on the Win2K and allowed sharing. It defaults to share name C$. I tried to change that to another name but still nothing.
Can anyone help as this is driving me nuts.
