AOL, without LOA (lots of ache)

I sensed that aol 6.0 on a 2k w/s set as peer with couple of w95 pc can mess things up a bit. (aol is used only on 2k w/s but it tries to configure an adapter each time it's activated)
What is the most stable version of AOL and perhaps suitable w/ 2k platform ?
And what are considerations that aol tech support fails to tell us.

true. use Earthlink here on west coast . happy with both DSL & dial up..
Sounds like AOL given out too many "1000 free hours" CDs away, it takes a 3rd or 4th dial up # try to get thru....
