Linksys EtherFast four-port cable/DSL router

Linksys 4 port Etherfast Cable/DSL router/firewall (BEFSR41)
A buddy of mine wants to see me his Linksys router. $40 bucks is what I am looking at. I was wondering Larry if you could give me your input on this router or anyone else that may own one. I know your a big SMC FAN!

I dont see the option for e-mail notification. Does that still exist?

The Linksys router is a good one. I ran one one on my network for a few days and have installed a couple of them. E-Mail-->upper right. Larry

For $40 bucks, buy it. I'm not sure you can get a decent 4-port switch for that, and that router has one built in.

If you still need convincing, I've been using mine for several months and have had no problems whatsoever.
BTW, I paid over $100 for mine new so if your buddy guarentees it's in good shape, take it.....

I have installed many of these routers. Never a problem. I have found it to be the best in it's class for supporting multi-session VPN. You probably are not going to need it for that application but the fact that it handles it so well compared to others proves that overall it is in my opinion the best choice in its class.
