ICS Wizard

I'm trying to network two computers with Windows 98 SE with ADSL.
Under ICS heading "General": Setting- it states
Connect to the internet using; select the connection that you use to access the internet. Nothing is indicated nor does it allow for an insertion. Under heading "Select the network adapter that you use to access your home network";
Automatically my ethernet card is indicated "Intel 21041 based Ethernet Controller"
After clicking ok,Windows displays "You must select the adapter that you use to access the internet before saving changes". It will not allow me to accept the aforementioned ethernet card. As a result I cannot get Internet connection sharing to show up on the Network window. What can I do?

See if Microsoft's Knowledge Base article Q238135 at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q238/1/35.ASP?LNG=ENG&SA=ALLKB&FR=0 Helps. If not, I would uninstall and reinstall all network compents including ICS. Also, look for exclamation marks in the Device Manager in the Control Panel, System. Finally, you may want to consider SyGate (see http://duxcw.com/digest/Reviews/Network/sygate/sygate.htm). It is easier to install and works better than ICS. Larry
