Ntl internet sharing

I have recently purchased an SMC Barricade router with the intention of networking my pc and laptop and also to share a cable modem internet connection. Everything works fine on the LAN side - both machines happily working away!! However I can get no traffic out to the WAN - the modem is a Motorola SB4100 and the provider is Ntlworld. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
