SMC Barricade / Linksys BEFSR41

I have 3 categories of questions:
1) My understanding is that SMC Barricade allows the hook up of an external modem for use instead of or as backup to DSL or Cable service. Is this correct? What limitations? What types of modems are allowed? Will an external USR Courier V.Everything <56K> work? Is it hard to configure?
2) How does the SMC Barricade compare to a Linksys 4-port Cable/DSL Router (BEFSR41)?
3) Does the print server work for an HP 820 Cse Windows printer?

1. Yes. I haven’t tested it and know of no limitations. External. Dunno, but it should. Doesn't look harder than putting an external MODEM directly on a PC.
2. Don't know except the Linksys router does not have a built-in print server, and I understand that it costs more. I plan to test and review the Linksys router soon.
3. I haven't tested that combination. It should work; it works well with an HP LaserJet II.
