Can anyone tell me the maximum distance of a RJ-45 (Ethernet) cable wiring. Without any hubs, switches, or repeaters. Just a straight wire. (in feet or meters)Thanks 1. RE: Max Length of a RJ-45 Cable lbyard Apr-09-00 02:01 PM In response to message 0
100 Meters (http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/cable/cable7.htm). Larry 2. RE: Max Length of a RJ-45 Cable lbyard Apr-12-00 04:49 PM In response to message 1
It's 300 Meters if you have a 10BaseT, 10 Mhz, network. Larry 3. cat 5 cable length parameters cat5j May-14-00 06:42 PM In response to message 0
technically, its 100 meters or 328 feet. but that is including your running wire along with the patch cords at each end. you should not run your cable more than 295 feet, leaving adequate footage for any patch cords you may be using. even if your over the 328 foot mark, it will still support whatever your running, but it might be a little slow. jay
