I started a thread regarding unequal transfer speeds between two computers on my network. The solution was to map the drive from the slow computer. It worked perfectly. Now I am having problems printing from my laptop to the printer connected to my desktop. The printer is shared out and does show up in Network Neighborhood. When I double-click it, it says that before I can use it for the laptop, it has to be installed and so forth. I agree to its suggestions and questions, but the process takes an eternity. The test page didn't show at all. I sent over a picture to print, and it was as if my laptop almost froze up. When I finally got tired of waiting, I shut down the laptop. Lo and behold, the image shot off to the printer, but not all of it: Paint Shop had already closed.
Does anyone have any idea why the printer does not want to respond to my laptop? If I browse to the same image from my desktop and print it, it takes no longer than if the image was on the desktop in the first place.
