Networking ME & Win98
7bronco Nov-08-00 03:29 PM
I have a DSL connection, i would like to share with my ME computer. Can I set up Win98 as the server to the ME computer using a hub?

Can I get a router to eleminate having the server run all the time?

Additionally, with or without the router, will both computers be able to be on the internet at the same time?

Thanks

Can I set up Win98 as the server to the ME computer using a hub? Yes, but a crossover cable (http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/cable/cable1.htm) will work and costs less.

Can I get a router to eleminate having the server run all the time? Yes.

Additionally, with or without the router, will both computers be able to be on the internet at the same time? Yes.

You are welcome. Larry
