I have finally got around to building my home LAN however after installing NICs and drivers I found that both computers are very slow to boot up. Is this normal or do I have a problem lurking somewhere? 1. robert03 robert03 Nov-12-00 06:02 PM In response to message 0
what O/s are u using, usually networked computers take a bit longer to load up , coz they have to load the network drivers and reconnect to mapped drives, check to see if u have any mapped drives. NT servers take really long.

What's "very slow?" Try changing the Client for Micrsoft Networks Properties to Quick Logon. You could have cable or IRQ problems. Larry 3. RE: robert03 Triumph Nov-22-00 10:02 PM In response to message 2
I've changed it to quick logon and I'm amazed at the difference before I could make a cup of coffee and back at my desk waiting now things are much improved. Thanks for your ideas
