Networking questions: EarthLink DSL & SMC Barricade

I have EarhtLink DSL, and 2 PCs working with the SMC Barricade Router. We use Windows ME and Windows 98 on the two PC's respectively. Few networking questions:
1. How can I enable windows networking between the PCs? My roommate and I can play multiplayer games on our LAN etc., but I don't know how to set up networking so we can copy files, browse shared folders etc.
2. I seem to have a problem with MSN Gaming Zone... I can log in, but can't launch games. Could it be because the Barricade sets up a firewall?

1. You can do it by following the appropriate steps in http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/net2pc/intro.htm.
2. Yes. You can setup the Barricade for the MS Gaming zone by connecting to the Barricade with your browser (http://192.168.123.254/), logging on (admin is the default password), selecting Special AP, and selecting MSN Gaming Zone from the menu in Popular applications. Other games/applications can be setup in the Special applications as well. See your Barricade user manual on the Barricade CD and the game setup instructions. Larry

Thanks! I tried gaming zone again, works great. I'll try the networking after the holiday weekend and hopefully your advice will prove to be equally good in this case!
