Greetings all,I can't be certain, however I strongly suspect that someone here would have the prerequisite knowledge required to answer the following question.
I have just installed a D-Link Ethernet card in my Win98SE system. The adapter's model is DFE-530TX *Rev.A3* w/WOL (in case that is somehow relevant). I've exhausted all online D-Link resources in a failed attempt to find information of the BEST configuration under different environments for this particular NIC.
Here it is,
There are many options available when going to "Network" ->"D-Link DFE-530TX ..." -> "Properties" -> "Advanced" tab. Some of them I understand, and others I don't have a clue. I've listed the ones that fall under the latter along with all the available options under their respective settings, with an asterisks denoting current configuration. Maybe one of you can shed some light on it, or can point me in an appropriate direction?
DMA Burst Length (DWORDS): 8, 16*, 32, 64, 128, 256, or Store and Forward
Map Registers: 4, 8, 16, 32*, or 64
Receive Buffers: 8, 16, 32*, 48, or 64
Receive Threshold (bytes): 32, 64*, 128, 256, 512, 768, and 1024 bytes, or Store and Forward
Transmit Buffers: 4, 8, 16, 32*, or 48
Transmit Threshold (bytes): 128*, 256, 512, and 1024 bytes, or Store and Forward
Any and all insight extremely welcomed!
