If your printer is either an Epson Stylus Color 850, Color 740, Color 640, Color 440, Stylus Photo 700 or Stylus Photo EX, skip steps 2-8.
1. Install the driver through the SETUP.EXE file on the bundled floppies or CD-ROM. If you wish to obtain the latest version of the driver, you can check our web site at http://www.epson.com/support/ftp.shtml and download the appropriate driver file. To install a downloaded file, simply double-click on it to start the installation process.
2. On the local drive of this terminal, create a directory by the name of EPSPOOL, so you have C:\EPSPOOL.
3. Click on 'Start' 'Programs' 'Epson’ ‘Spool Manager'.
4. In the Epson Spool Manager, click on 'Options' 'Default Spool Directory' and change the directory to C:\EPSPOOL. Click on 'Okay'.
5. In the Epson Spool Manager, click on ‘Queue’ ‘Setup’.
6. Select 'Spool to local printer'.
7. Ensure that the ‘Spool Directory’ is set to C:\EPSPOOL.
8. Close the ‘Epson Spool Manager’. “

1. Install the driver through the SETUP.EXE file on the bundled floppies or CD-ROM. If you wish to obtain the latest version of the driver, you can check the File Library section for your product. To install a downloaded file, simply double-click on it to start the installation process.
2. Double-click on the ‘Network neighborhood’ icon and then locate and double-click the computer that has the printer connected to it.
3. You should now see the printer name that you had assigned in step #16.
4. Right-click on the icon of the printer and left-click on ‘Capture Printer Port’. Select a non-existent port such as ‘LPT5’ and also place a check mark on 'Reconnect at Logon'. Click on 'Okay'.
5. Close all open windows.
6. Click on ‘Start’ ‘Settings’ ‘Printers’.
7. Right-click on the icon of the printer and left-click on ‘Properties’.
8. Click on the ‘Details’ tab.
9. Under ‘Print to the following port’, select the port that you had captured in step #4, in this case LPT5. Click on ‘Apply’ and then ‘Okay’.
10. Close all open windows.
11. On the local drive of this terminal, create a directory by the name of EPSPOOL, so you have C:\EPSPOOL.
12. Click on 'Start' 'Programs' 'Epson’ ‘Spool Manager'.
13. In the Epson Spool Manager, click on 'Options' 'Default Spool Directory' and change the directory to C:\EPSPOOL. Click on 'Okay'.
14. In the Epson Spool Manager, click on ‘Queue’ ‘Setup’.
15. Select 'Spool to local printer'.
16. Ensure that the ‘Spool Directory’ is set to C:\EPSPOOL.
17. Enable ‘Use Print Manager for this port’ and click on ‘Okay’.
18. Close the ‘Epson Spool Manager’.
19. Print a test page.”
