Hi, I'm trying to set up a local network between two Win98 computers (and I have done this before successfully, my computer needed the hardrive replaced and now I can't seem to remember how I got past this problem) and having problem with getting my computer to even get me to logon to the network... I have tried doing what was written in reply to the same problem in the FAQ section, but it's not working... the only way I can get anywhere close to this is if in the 'network neighbourhood', under 'configuration', i click the properties of 'client for microsoft network' and check off the 'logon to windows NT domain' (although I know that in the end it's not supposed to be checked off), then i can go into the 'passwords' section in the 'control settings' and can type in new passwords for the network logon, but it won't successfully change it because it says that the 'domain controller cannot be found'... Please Help! Thanks. 1. RE: Network Problem - Can't Get the lbyard Dec-24-00 06:32 PM In response to message 0
The networking steps with pictures are at http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/net2pc/intro.htm. See http://duxcw.com/faq/network/nopsswd.htm for fixing the login problem. The login to a Windows domain is for a network with a file/domain server. Larry

Thanks Larry, but I have tried already all those suggestions, and I'm afraid they're not working out... 3. RE: Network Problem - Can't Get the robert03 Dec-26-00 06:31 AM In response to message 0
if your trying to setup a local network between two 98 machines why are u using the logon to domain option. just make suer that both computers are in the same workgroup all u need is client for MS. tcp\ip and file and print sharing remove the MS family Logon.
