98se/ME ICS Network -port forwarding?
empathymp3 Dec-30-00 01:34 AM
Hiya, i have a two computer crossover cable network set up, one box being 98se, used purely for my adsl connection, the other box is my main computer, runnign windows me, ICS works fine for all of my e-mail/web/irc/etc/etc but i have started to use Direct Connect (http://www.neo-modus.com/) and i have become stumped.
As far as i can work out, the client connects to the DC servers through port 411, and datais sent back down to port 412, but when this data arrives at the 98se box, that is where it stops, the data port 412 does not get forwarded to the ME box. the faq on the DC website (http://www.neo-modus.com/FAQ.htm) says that i need to make a TCP link for port 412 between my external ip on the 98se box, and 192.168.0.2 (my ME box) any ideas on how to do this, or how to set up port forwarding?
BTW, the DC client runs fine on the 98se machine, but i really want it on the Me machine, as the 98se bx, is just the ICS machine.!

Many Thanx
Rob
