Contact/Calendar sharing over network programs?

I've tried Outlook with Net Folders. It does not seem to synchronize 100% of the time and that is just not good enough.
What other programs are there that allow contact management and calendar sharing over a network?
I'd love to use Outlook, but it just doesn't seem to work well enough the way I set it up.

(first of all, you must imagine that Beavis is spewing this knowledge)
and with that in mind......
over a tcp\ip network with outlook 2k installed on the host, I installed office 2k through a network admin. (details on how to do this are at http://support.microsoft.com/support/office/off2k/admin.asp)
once this is complete, the sync between any folder in outlook on the host and the client(s) is done by file\import-export\import from another program or file\personal folder file (.pst)\browse the network for \\(host)\windows\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst
select "do not import duplicates"
leave the next selection as "personal folders" and it will sync all features
that should be the answer to your problems. I know it's a few more steps than a simple sync but it works.
