Hi i want to make a wan .....the networks are 4 miles from each other... ok so i have to make folders on each PC and share them ... how do I map the remote drives ????? and login etc ???

The tealeaves are a little murky… Just what do have in the way of hardware and software on those networks and what kind of Internet connection do you have at both ends? Larry

Im running win2K pro on both PC's .. both have folders with an account for me to login with...
ISDN 128K connection.. i can map network drives on my local network.. but dont know how to di it remotely

You would need Win 2K a server with a static (permanent) IP address at one end to do a VPN. You could try this: http://winfiles.cnet.com/howto/peercon.html. Let me know if it works, OK? Larry

I have got win2K server so i will install that ... what is the difference to the Pro and server editions ??

Well, I haven’t setup a Win 2K server here. Like Windows NT, which I’m still using, Win 2K server has more security features; with IIS, it can be an Internet server; and has a VPN server. A list of features is at http://microsoft.com/windows2000/guide/server/features/default.asp. Larry
