dsl modem is pci w/ rj11 jack

I am getting asdsl next mounth I too have been looking at SMC routers I like the 7008br.
I need answer about the wan port. it`s rj45 I think. I did not want a USB modem.I might could get an external w/USB & rj45/T10. All are 3com.
I would rather have the router hook to the net before my computer, instead of after. Any input would be nice.

It is an RJ-45 jack. (http://duxcw.com/digest/Reviews/Network/smc/smc7004br/smc7004br.htm - 4-port version). I would get/insist on an external MODEM with an 100 BASE-TX Ethernet interface. Larry
