Peer to Peer Cable Question

Objective - Connect two (2) windows 98 SE computers using peer to peer with no hub.
I have:
Installed both nic cards in each computer.
Ran a Cat 5 cable from one room to another and put both ends on as 568A. (Straight)
Question - I know I have to have a crossover cable. Now, since the wall to to wall cable is a straight cable (568a), do I have to have both wall to computer cables as crossover, or just one?
Any help on this would be appreciated.

It only has to crossover once. If you have jacks at both ends, use a crossover at one end and straight –thru at the other end. See the top of http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/cable/cable5.htm and imagine the two diagrams joined together at adjacent ends and a straight-thru connecting the left end to a PC. TX+ has to go to RX+, etc. Larry
