I am getting RoadRunner service soon. I have a 3 computer network in my home, 2 win 98 machines and a win me machine. They are networked through a 4 port hub. When I get roadrunner I would like to connect the cable modem to the hub rather than to one of the machines. I already know I will need 3 IP's which I can get for $9.95 extra/month. How much trouble is it to network the connection through the hub?

Yes you can do that… No way would I pay a monthly fee for additional IP addresses. See http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/waysshare.htm for a better solution. Larry 2. RE: cable modem with a hub jrp11 Apr-20-01 02:25 PM In response to message 1
Thanks Larry. By reading everything at http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/waysshare.htm it sounds as if I can do this with just 1 IP. I was thinking of the extra IP's because one of the machines is going to be a game server that a few of my friends can access remotely. If I have the network on one IP would they be able to access this server or would the other 2 computers mess that up?
