i got the idea to set my computer up as host to the internet and i had a hard time finding sources that would tell me what i needed to do in plain English. I found the article in your site tilted:
"How to Network and Share an Internet Connection With Windows 98 Second Edition."

does this mean that basicall after i do this i can make my home pc a host for differnet web sites on the internet?....If any 1 has any advice for me please help.

There are ways to do it (not in my articles), but your ISP will probably send you a Cease and Desist order if he doesn’t outright terminate your account. And there are ways to make temporary, private connections between two computers on the Internet which probably will not raise the ire of the ISP (again, not in any of my articles). For permanent Internet hosts, most ISPs will host a personal web site as part of your account (see your ISPs FAQ’s for more info). Beyond a personal web site, unless you have a lot of money, the way to put “your computer” on the Internet is to hire the services of an Internet hosting service (e.g., http://pair.com/) and uploading whatever you want to put on the Internet to a server provided by the service. That is much much cheaper (and a lot easier) than buying a router and a dedicated communications line, etc. to the Internet. Larry
