ics 2 win2000 comps with AOL??? please help me

i have 2 comps with win2000 on both and a lan. i have aol 6.0, how do i share AOL internet connection on the lan. i have tried ICS but i cant share a dial up networking (icon) cos it dont exsist. please please help me some one i have tried everything.

i am sorry larry. i am connected by 56k modem to AOL. The network is two computers connected with pci ethernet cards and both running windows 2000 professional.

Well, I've looked all over the place for an answer to your problem. One thing is for sure: even if you can share the connection, two PCs cannot log into the same AOL account at the same time. The only way I can come-up with a solution is to install AOL 6 on at least one of my two Win 2K computers. So far I have downloaded AOL 6, but am reluctant to open an AOL account even though the first 1,000 hours are free. Nothing is free. I would get rid of AOL, especially since they just raise your rates. One can live without AOL quite well. I have and can get/do just about anything I want on the Internet without it. Sorry I couldn’t help more. Maybe another reader has the answer. If not, I may give it a try Monday or Tuesday. Larry

I have managed to do it and it was so easy 2!!!
all i needed was a proxy program. I spent an age messing with ICS in windows and using sygate etc. but i downloaded a small program called proxyi.
I just had to
1) Set my LAN to use ip to 10.0.0.2 and the other comp LAN to 10.0.0.1
2) Change iexplorer options LAN setting to use proxy 10.0.0.1 port 6588 (the ip of the other comp)
thats it i can now surf on both comps!!!!
It even works the other way round. So i can now dial up on either comp and so long as i run the small proxy program on that computer the other computer has access to inet. I dont need to change iexplorers proxy settings either when i dial up as normal and dont use the proxy.
the program is limited to what u can use, i believe you cant use real player through it and some other things. So i am now looking for a similar but better proxy program.
If anyone else has had this problem i hope you managed to read what i have posted and it works for you 2.

its not brilliant but it works for most stuff and it helped me solve my problem.
