HP Laserjet IIIp

Any suggestions on where I can find help with this printer. HP'site suggested that with the error code "ERROR 52" that the printer be returned to the HP Authorized service center to have the "Scanning Assembly" serviced/repaired. Looking for either repair instructions or source where info can be found. HP's site offers no addt'l info. Thank you Larry.
