If something goes wrong (e.g., a power outage) during this process you could end-up with an unbootable motherboard. If that happens you will have to find someone with the equipment to flash the BIOS, obtain another BIOS, or buy a new motherboard. I've done it many times without a problem. Someday it's going to get me."
If this indeed is what is wrong with the board it is absolutely beyond my understanding how any kind of quality assurance would allow the board to come to market. The obvious answer is there was no quality assurance or any kind of reasonable testing! I would really like to know if this fixed it. How do you like the DDR memory? Fast? Larry
