problem in computer monitor

I have 15" samsung color monitor. For last few weeks, as I start my pc, no display comes on monitor. After a long time slowly-slowly the display emerges on screen - first very dim and getting clearer with time. Also a lot of chirping sound comes from monitor at start up.
Miss lot of action on TV, anyone could help. Is it a s/w or h/w problem? What to do?

Sounds to me like your monitor is screwed up.
It's definately not a software problem... if it were the monitor wouldn't be making funny sounds.

"Sounds" like a bad high voltage power supply and probably time to be thinking about a new monitor if it is out of warrantee. I would not leave it on unattended due to possible fire risk. Pull the plug at night. Larry
