help installing d-link fast ethernet adapter.

Hello,
I'm having trouble installing the software for a d-link dfe-538TX fast ethernet adaptor. I keep getting the message
Windows needs the disk labeled D-Link DFE-538 TX 10/100 Adapter Driver Disk to continue. This disk may be provided by your computer or device manufacturer.
I have already gone back to the store and gotten a new software disk.
Can anybody give me an answer as to why I can't load this software?
I'm using Windows ME, by the way.

this happens more times than it doesn't during D-Link installs. See http://duxcw.com/faq/network/nicsetup.htm. Larry
