Help with My new Compuer Please

Hello,
I am attempting to build my own computer and ofcourse I am having problems. Heres what I have so far.
M7VIB (BIOSTAR) motherboard with onboard audio
AMD DURON 1GHz CPU
256MB RAM DIMM from Crucial.com
and I have a SILURO AGP T400 video card
Quantum Fireball 60G HDD
56X CRDOM
I am having trouble getting the MBC to show up onto the monitor.
I have installed the CPU the Memory and put the video card into its AGP slot. When I turn the computer on I get a few beeps, but nothing shows up onto the monitor (yes the monitor is plugged in and swithced on)
Can anyone help me ? Is it a video card problem or something else ?
Before I visited this site I did connect the HDD and the CDROM to the mother board and tried booting it, would that have some how affected the MBC ?

Beeps are usually caused by the video board or memory. Suggest reseating both. See the third question at http://duxcw.com/faq/mb/mb.htm, and search this forum and the site with the site search to the left for more steps. You will find lots of info. There have been a couple of posts in these foums on similar problems recently. Larry
