Problem with Canon BJC4300 printer

Printer does not print anymore, light is blinking in middle of printer and does not do anything.
Has sent him to repair shop and they didn't found anything. But... occasionally the printer does something. This is very occasionally.
Might this be a known problem with Canon BJC 4300 printers?????

{I have to say this.} If you find the fix for this printer, please post it. My son has the same problem (eyes blink, but he doesn't do anything -- sent him to school, but he still doesn't do much). I think it is a known problem with teenagers, but what is the fix?

The power light on the printer blinks continuously.
Cause:
The printer does not recognize the installed ink cartridge. Either the ink cartridge is not seated properly or it is damaged.
Solution:
With the printer turned on, open the front cover of the printer.
Release the locking lever that holds the cartridge in place.
Remove the cartridge from the printer and inspect it for damage or packing materials that may not have been removed.
Reseat the cartridge, let go of it, and lock the locking lever.
Turn the printer off, then back on again.
If the power light continues to blink after the printer has initialized, replacement of the ink cartridge may be necessary."
