How does one enable both processors on an Abit BP6 motherboard, running Win 2000,which is supposed to support dual processors? 1. RE: Dual processors on BP6 lbyard Sep-07-00 03:02 AM In response to message 0
I haven't done it, but Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q234558 at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q234/5/58.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0 may help a little. The BP6 User Manual says: "Based on peripheral specifications and other considerations, the BP6 SMP (Symmetric Multiple Processor) function is designed for testing only. The BP6 motherboard can’t manage the SMP function alone. It must co-operate with the CPU and OS that support the SMP function. Therefore, any damage caused by employing an improper or OS will void the warranty." Perhaps another reader with first-hand experience running two processors on this motherboard could offer some advise??? Larry
