Iwill kk266

Hi
Am new to this but read that the above is a good product. Would it be safe to say that ddr and this board are relatively future proof if I dare use the term. Also are there limits to the speeds of cpu I can use.

Don't dare... That is never safe to say with computers and motherboards. It will become obsolete faster than you would like. General rule of thumb for computer obsolescence… The absolute latest and greatest, high-end computer that you can buy today will be obsolete within three years. If you keep it longer than three years, you will wish that you had sold it when it was three years old. That may be accelerating some. I usually keep a motherboard for about a year. The one I have is long overdue, but I am waiting to the fall when I expect some noteworthy changes (motherboards with the nVIDIA chipset and Palomino desktop CPUs). Larry

some friends of mine have it.with the latest bios update it makes it a whole new motherboard. It is capable of handling 170 fsb.They love it. On the downside, it still uses jumpers to switch the i/o voltage and to change from 100 to 133 fsb. The rest is done in the bios.

UPDATE: I have this motherboard. Not bad @ all. Should update to newest bios if using Raid, and the onboard sound is desent. I use it so I do not need a pci card in. The rumors of high fsb are true. I had it @ 166 with room temps being normal. Wonder what it will do with a 13c motherboard temp? Here is a memory bench @ 166 fsb.

For sdram this is well above average and am quite impressed.
