Hi Larry,
How much force do I need to lower the CPU socket lever down fully to lock the processor?
I have a motherboard GA7VTX. When I put an Athlon processor into the socket, there is no problem: the processor sits into the socket naturally without any force. However since then I cannot lower the level anymore. I tried to use consierable force to lower it but still couldn't make it. The process pins are not bent when I pull it out of the socket. Any experience for this tiny action?

Yes. See http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/cpu/socka/1.html. I hope you didn't damage the processor. Are you sure you have a Socket A and not a socket 7 heatsink-fan? Don't force anything. Larry
