cant format C drive

Im back again!!
After partitioning my hard drive I get to A prompt
and try to format my C drive and I get a message that says "format not supported on C drive" anybody got any clues?

You have to reboot after creating a partition before you can format it. Did you go back with fdisk and display the partition info to be sure a partition is there? Larry

It's partitioned but the partition wont take affect until you restart, then back at the prompt format c drive.........
