CMOS ERROR Possible Static Electricity

This is for help for my brother. He was trying to hook in a playstation when his computer froze up. He knows this has to do with static electricity. And now when he boots computer it reads:
Error
0251: System CMOS check sum bad -default configuration used.
What can he do to fix this? Any help is appreciated!

Usually, going into the CMOS Setup, loading defaults (set the time and date while you doing it), and saving and exiting will clear-up the problem. The computer may have a bad battery. http://duxcw.com/faq/cmos/cmos.htm. Larry
