I have a PIII machine. When I try booting I get the message "CPU is unworkable or has been changed". Is my CPU toast? If so, where's the best place to go shopping for a CPU? Thanks.

A jumper or a CMOS Setup setting probably does not match the CPU clock speed or multiplier. The CPU is working or you would not see the message. Larry
