Replaced Stock CD Drive w/zipCD650

Windows 98 SE, Dell Dimension XPS T450.
Replaced the stock internal cd drive with an Iomega zipCD/650 Cd-RW/DVD drive. With old drive installed startup is very fast. With new drive in start up is very slow. By start up, I mean from the point I turn on the computer till it asks me for my password (system bios password. Anyway to bypass this long pause with my new drive?

Try setting that drive in the CMOS Setup to no drive installed. Windows should still detect and use it. Larry

Did not seem to have any effect, but thats ok.
Other than a slower start up, my system works pretty good.
